28- DIALOGUE BETWEEN TWO STUDENTS ON THE FAMOUS TV PROGRAMMES

Dialogue between Ruby and Gogo

Ruby: Asslam-o-Alaikum! How are you? Gogo.

Gogo: Wa’alaikum-us-Salaam! Fine, thank you.

Ruby: How are you doing in these days?

Gogo: You know that I do the job and I am very engaged in my job and household chores. Whenever I find time to relax then I watch the TV programmes.

Ruby: Do you think that TV is a useful and beneficial invention?

Gogo: Why not? It not only provides us a lot of entertainment but it is also one of the most powerful electronic media.

Ruby: What kinds of programmes do you love to watch and especially wait for the time to be broadcasted.

Gogo: I like the “Chasing Time” and “Mega Structures” of the National Geographic Channel. I also like some of the Music Shows of MTV and all time favourite Dramas of PTV.

Ruby: But Indian glamorous dramas of “Star Plus” have got much fame among the public of our country. Although they lack standard and do not depict the true picture of the society. They also lack our cultural, religious and moral values.

Gogo: Absolutely right, such dramas are only made in order to mislead the young generation.

Ruby: Actually it is the age of mass media. There are numerous channels which are tuned 24/7 in order to demonstrate their culture.

Gogo: But we are living in an ideological state. There are some constraints and restrictions. We should never follow the culture of the others.

Ruby: Actually, people are willing to witness such programmes that not only offer entertainment, amusement and enjoyment but also informative. So, programmes should be in accordance with their taste.

Gogo: It is true to some extent but it is not totally true that a woman only provides joy and relaxation. Some comical and suspense plays can serve the same purpose.
