A DIALOGUE BETWEEN TWO FRIENDS ON INCREASING PRICES IN PAKISTAN

SCENE- (IN THE SCHOOL CANTEEN)

Amin: (Coming to Aleem in the school canteen) Asslam-o-Alaikum!
Alim: Wa-Alaikum-u-Salam!
Amin: How are you?
Alim: I am fine, thank you.
Amin: I want to have a coke and a burger. Do you?
Alim: No, I don’t have enough money to buy these.
Amin: Why?
Alim: My father has made a cut in my pocket money due to dearness. Now, I can not afford it daily.
Amin: Oh! Yes, Dearness has really disturbed every section of our community.
Alim: Look! How are the prices of the fuel increasing day by day? It has adversely affected the prices of all other household things. This dearness has broken the back of the poor and even the middle class like we are. They are forced to live from hand to mouth.
Amin: You are right.
Alim: The fares of the public transport have also increased and it is also another burden on the public and the students. Now, they have reached an unaffordable limit.
Amin: You are right. Our government should control the prices of the basic needs of the people so that they could avoid starvation.
Alim: Yes! The government should also give the dearness allowance to the employees so that they can manage their expenses easily.
Amin: Well! I shall buy you a coke today. Let’s enjoy it.
Alim: Thank you. (The school bells rings and the recess is over).

Then both the friends go their class.
