MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION

Horses, camels, donkeys and mules have used the beasts of burden and also as the means of transportation in the past. People used to drive them either behind the cart or behind a carriage. For moving in the water from one place to other, they rowed the boats with oars and small ships which were not very reliable and were often wrecked by the sea storms which caused deaths on a larger scale in those days. But now, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, buses, truck, vans, trains, big ships, helicopters and aeroplanes have replaced them. These means of transportation are more reliable, speedy, timesaving and accessible then it was in the past.

The distance, which was done in days and months in the past, can now be done in hours and minutes. The fastest means of transportation is by means of an aeroplane. It has shortened the distances between the countries and the continents. We can travel thousands of miles within hours by air. The slowest means of transportation is through bullock-cart. It is still used to carry the goods. These means of transportation have made our life fast and we can access the other cities within hours. Now, we can never think of a life without these means of transportation.
