Rehan: Asslam-o-Alaikum!
Romail: Wa’alaikum-us-Salaam!
Rehan: How are you? Where had you been for such a long time?
Romail: I am perfectly all right. Actually I was very
much engaged in my sister’s marriage therefore I could not find time
enough to meet you. But thank God, all have done properly and nicely.
Rehan: Do you think we are controlled by free?
Romail: No I don’t think so. We make our fate ourselves as we
shape it according to our powers and capacities.
Rehan: But sometimes we can’t do anything against happenings like
wars, earthquakes and floods and they wipe us out. It is said after the
destruction that it was our fate to suffer. In other words, all the blame is
put on the fate or destiny.
Romail: Here you are right . And I shall add to the
happenings and incidents or accidents you have described the facts of disease
and death. Then there are chances like winning lotteries or races or
bets. These are surely matters of ill luck or bad luck.
Rehan: Then how can you say that we control our fates?
Romail: I tell you dear that we can generally progress and we can
become successful and rich if we struggle hard and honestly and follow the
right principles of the life. Sooner or later, we succeed and our efforts are
liked by others.
Rehan: You may be right to some extent. You know there are
thousands of people who cannot make progress because they are too poor or who are
living in small villages in an outdated and superstitious social system. Isn’t
it their fate to suffer?
Romail: Many people in our society want to write their fate with
their own hands and in this pursuit, they risk their life in front of
the greatest dangers. It is, then, for leaders or social reformers to change
the condition of these people or to change the system. It is the leaders like
Ataturk who can determine their fate or situation of life.
Rehan: We should not leave our life at the hands of the fate or be
contended on what we are destined to get or lose but we should put our earnest
efforts in order make our fate a good fate.
Romail: Let us look for and follow such leaders. Good-bye.
Rehan: Good-bye.
