10- DIALOGUE BETWEEN STUDENT AND NEIGHBOUR ON THE TOPIC OF EDUCATION.

Student: Asslam-o-Alaikum!
Neighbour: Wa-alaikum-us-Salaam!
Student: How are you?
Neighbour: Fine, thanks. How are you doing?
Student: Alright. Have you returned from the factory?
Neighbour: Yes! I have just arrived.
Student: How is your job going?
Neighbour: Its very tiresome and nerve-shattering job. It also does not have any scope for me as I have been doing the job as a labourer here for the last three years but no handsome increment is made in my wages during this whole period.
Student: If you would be educated then you will not have to face this kind of situation.
Neighbour: Yes! There is no doubt in it that it is absolutely because of my lack of education.
Student: Now, you are beginning to realize that how much importance does education have in this era?
Neighbour: It’s quite true. If I would have got the education whole-heartedly and I would not have wasted my time in work-shirking and wandering aimlessly on the roads then my position would be quite different from this.
Student: Yes! Exactly. I can understand your tension as it is the era of science and technology and everyday new and novel things are being invented and in order to understand and cope with them, we should have proper knowledge about them which we can only get by means of education.
Neighbour: It is the main problem that I have been facing for the last many years and it is just the product of my own negligence.
Student: Anyways, you still have the time to take on the training programmes which can help you better understand the basic knowledge about your profession.
Neighbour: It is easy to say but very difficult for me to take on it. As you know how much the prices have gone sky high and I have to live from hand to mouth. But I have determined to educate my children so that they will not have to face such a situation in future like me.
Student: That’s a very nice and fine intention. Anyways, if you seek any kind of help from me in this matter then I shall be there for you anytime.
Neighbour: Thank you very much. I think not only I but also you are getting late and we should leave now.
Student: Yes! We should go now, OK, Allah Hafiz.

Neighbour: Allah Hafiz.
